After watching Gumball Rally as a 12 year old, I fell in love with a particularly cute yet brutal little blue car. It had a big engine, side pipes and the ability to spin rear wheels like I’d seen nothing before. Didn’t know what it was, nor where it came from – however all I knew “was when I grow up I’m going to have one just like it !

Fast forward 20 years - volumes of books, magazines, hundreds of dreaming hours ….. my lovely wife finally put it too me in no uncertain terms “Well Ed – will you be getting this Cobra or not ?” … I’d saved enough pennies to build my boy hood dream car – so it really was a case of - need not ask twice honey !..

The approach we took, was to professionally build a faithful replica of Carroll Shelby’s mid sixties Cobra roadster. This meant, we’d have to source Smiths instruments, MotaLita steering wheel, Lucas switch gear, Stainless side pipes, stone guards, roll bar, engine dress up kit, Halibrand style wheels on 225/60/15 - 295/50/15 rubber, then finish it off with trademark white racing stripes on pearl blue paint and black leather interior. Powered by Ford - in this case 351 c.i. Windsor, transmitted via 5 speeds to Jag 3.54:1 final drive, the brakes & suspension are also courtesy of Jaguar, with King springs and an AVO adjustable coil over shock combination holding up all 4 corners.
